Reading your post made me RIDICULOUSLY 'homesick' for Paris - Eric Kayser is good, but there are better bakeries with better bread. Also, while you're in Germany, you should try and get to the Alsace region of France. I've never been to Normandy, but Alsace was simply stunning (well, Champagne and Alsace). I liked the Bill Bryson book, and although I probably would've kept reading it until the end of time, it wasn't particularly better than his other books. It didn't really go anywhere, which is mildly annoying, but it's Bill Bryson, so we forgive. Also, the whole "thunderbolt kid" thing didn't pan out at ALL. Part 2: I love forcing people to speak German, and I will gladly do it to/for you. Be prepared for powerpoints. I guess I can’t reply to these, I just have to post a new comment.
